You can't beat this name for a girl. It's has a beautiful sound which is redolent of the antebellum south but which has its origin in the Bible, Roman history and the Catholic sainthood. It's an anti-modern declaration for those parents who reject degenerate, trashy modern naming conventions.
I love the bright cheerfulness of Susannah! I love the nickname Sunny, but Annie is my favorite. Both are so optimistic and lovely! I also love this spelling. It feels so complete!
I do not know why, but -- every time I see or hear the name Susannah, it feels like the sun just came out from behind the clouds and birds have started to sing. The name just delights me for some reason. If I miraculously had a second daughter, I would name her Susannah.
I love this name so much. I would consider this name because one of my favorite aunts was named Susan, but I think this is a prettier variation of that name.
Our daughter (born in 2000) is named Susannah. We love the name's femininity, familiarity, and as it turns out, uniqueness. We meet a ton of Savannahs but no Susannahs her age.
I really like Susannah. I believe it means "lily" and the Hebrew version is Shoshana. In Early American times a popular nickname was Sukey, which I think is unique and prefer it to Susie.
