To be honest, I can only think of Suri Cruise when I hear/see this name. It's nice sounding and all, and a lot better than the other names celebs give their children to be honest.
Suri sounds a bit cutesy and I can only think of Suri Cruise when I hear this name, but it's much better than the ridiculous names that other celebs give their kids.
Suri is a nickname for the Hebrew name Sarah. My little sister's name is Sarah and she goes by Suri everywhere. While in the Orthodox Jewish community it's SO popular, I found it kind of nice it's coming around to secular circles.
I like it because it's a very beautiful name. My best friend and her husband searched for unique baby names and finally decided to name their daughter Suri who is now 11 years old. As a fan of Tom Cruise I think he chose a nice name for his little girl unlike other celebrities who pick ridiculous ones for their children such as Apple, Bear or North.

My name is Suri. It's legally Sarah, but ever since I was a baby I've been called Suri. I'm Jewish, and Suri is actually a VERY popular nickname for Sarah for Orthodox Jews. I'm named after my sweet grandmother who died from cancer before I was born, and I cherish my name and proudly use it in the business world. People have only said nice comments when I tell them my name, like that it's so sweet, unusual and pretty.I absolutely love my name. I think it's beautiful in both forms.
I find this name to be ugly. It sounds like someone saying "yes, sirree". It also reminds me of Surry county in the state of North Carolina.

I find "Suri" to be very sweet... unfortunately, if used, a clever fullname must be devised because the simplicity and near childish manner (especially with the ending "-i") will not aid your child in life (.. I suppose young Miss Cruise doesn't have to worry too much). It is very tender, very "cute." But as I have said: an atrocity in the professional world.
I like this name and think it's cute, though I liked it long before Suri Cruise was born. The first time I heard it, honestly, was from the 2000 movie Dinosaur; the little girl lemur (voiced by Hayden Panettiere) is named Suri.

It doesn't sound nice. I feel for Suri Cruise on many levels.
I don't like the sound of this name. It sounds unpleasant and not very feminine. Surrey is not only a place in England, it's a town in Canada as well, and I always associate Suri with the town Surrey since I live close by.
I didn't even think this was a real name until TomKat used it on their daughter. Now everyone will assume that someone using it named her after TomKat's daughter. Without Suri Cruise, this name is quite ugly, and it makes me think of Surrey, a county in England.
Such a sweet name - nicer than Sarah, in my opinion. I agree, it's a shame that it is so notorious as the name of Suri Cruise, although she is such a beautiful little girl that it only makes me like the name more!
I love this name! It's just too bad that nobody knew it existed until TomKat used it; it's really lovely. But now all people will think of when they meet a Suri is that she must've been named after Suri Cruise. *sighs*
