This always sounded like a cow's name to me. It's kind of hard for me to take someone seriously with this name. It's also too close to the Russian word suka, which means "female dog," and the modern American slang word "sucky."
I see this name for a little girl or a young woman but for a more mature nickname for Susan (or it's variations), Sue is best as it sends a more professional impression.
Sukie does not have to be a nickname, it is also a full name, and I have also seen it spelt Suki. It is very cute and it is good for a child, but also sounds awesome for an adult! GREAT NAME!
I love the name Sukie, but personally I like it better for my cats' names. A friend of the family had her cat named Sukie, and now I named my kitten Suki. (no e at the end.)
