I knew a girl named Sanyu, probably a spelling variation of this. She was adopted from Uganda so I think her name was derived from this name. It's a very beautiful and meaningful name.

This name is really intriguing! It has a cool, pleasant meaning and some interesting letter combinations- ss beginning, and it's the only girls' name I can think of that ends in "u". It's not my favorite, but I definitely find this name worth a second look.
