Solomon Tozer was the Sergeant of the Marines on HMS Terror on Franklin's lost expedition of 1845. A sword said by an Inuit man to have belonged to a "great officer" from the expedition was recovered in 1857 - it has been suggested that this most likely belonged to Tozer. He was portrayed by David Walmsley in the 2018 series The Terror.
I like it. It reminds me of the line from The Fiddler on the Roof song "If I Were a Rich Man":"The most important men in town would come to fawn on me! They would ask me to advise them, Like a Solomon the Wise."
Solomon Perel wrote "Hitlerjunge Salomon," an autobiographical book about how he hid his Jewish heritage and pretended to be Aryan during the second world war in order to stay safe. The book was made into the movie "Europa, Europa."
Solomon is the lead singer's name for Family Force 5. I like this name, but I never hear of lots of people with this name. That's great. It's one of those names that's only good on a few people. I hope people keep it that way.
