Sacha

The use of Sasha as a masculine name is attributed to a Russian diminutive for Alexander. It's an attractive name for either gender, and neither dated nor too trendy. Also, Sacha is a perfectly acceptable variant. I think it's unfortunate that people are attacking these amazing names for trivial reasons. If you have a problem with a certain name, please don't preface it in the comments by telling other people not to use it.

This is my name. I’m a girl. I don’t like it. Everyone always mispronounced it as Sa-cha, as in the Cha-Cha Slide. Or Satchel. Or Sa-Ca. If you wanna go for the name, spell it Sasha.

Ugh. Makes me think of the irritating Sacha Baron Cohen.

If it wasn't for the super-juvenile, super-obnoxious Sasha Baron Cohen, then I would be fine with this name.

I love this spelling of the beautiful name Sasha. But I would never, ever name a boy Sasha. Ever.
