Like in other Slavic languages, the Croatian word ruža comes directly from Latin rosa, so the article could say so (it is shown in the family tree after all) - Ruža is even pronounced almost exactly the same as Róża in Polish, the only difference is spelling. [noted -ed] By the way, the form Roza while less popular in comparison, is also quite common and usual.
