Pronounced /'ɾo.ɑld/ in Norwegian and /'ɹoʊ.əld/ in English.

The correct Norwegian pronunciation is "Roo-all." Note that you do NOT say the final "d". In other words, when you say "Roald Dahl" correctly, it rhymes! The Anglicized pronunciation is "Roe-ald".
