Priscilla

Another meaning of the name Priscilla that I have seen a lot online is primordial. I think this gives the name a certain mysterious and beautiful quality.

The story I heard for the origin of this name (which I suspect is not true) is that it was used by couples who had lost infant children. The idea was that by naming the child "Priscilla" (one possible translation of which might be "somewhat old") they might fool the powers that be (whatever they might be) into thinking that the child had already passed infancy and so spare its life.
