Way too surnamey. Not every surname works as a given name, and this is a prime example of that.
This name is perfection. Love it for both girls and boys. 10/10. The meaning is bland, but the name itself has a beautiful ring.
I like the sound of this name. But I do think it works better as a surname.
Don’t name your child this. It’s an occupation, love.
This name may not have the best meaning but it does sound very pretty and I like it!
It sounds nice in all, but it’s Porter. Not doing that to a child.
Makes me think of a portly man, with a beefy neck/chin. If gluttony had a name...
I don’t understand why this name is so ghastly if nobody really voted this name bad! So that means it’s a nice name.:)
What kind of warped mentality must a parent have to inflict this name on a child? So dumb and so pretentious at the same time. It's a surname, so that's strike 1. It's a servile occupation, strike 2. It advertises your lack of culture and desperation to be thought of as some sort of elitist, strike 3.
Although I do like this name, no way in hell would I ever name my kid this (a son obviously) Porter potty comes to mind.
I love the name Porter for a boy. It just sounds so sweet. I would probably name my own son Porter one day. It's one my most favorite boy names.
I knew a girl and her husband who named their son Porter because the husband was a bartender and really liked beer. They called the boy their little beer. It's a travesty of a name; you might as well name his sisters Sherry and Brandy.
It sounds hopelessly elitist and pretentious as a first name. I bet kids named Porter go to expensive, all-boy boarding schools.
I think that if you're going to name your son Porter expect him to be huge. This name just reminds me of some big linebacker or something.
