This name means "golden eagle". It's a Native American name. I used it for a character in my stories because it sounds nice and even alludes to her intentions.
As a person who owns this name, there are several things to note: It is not a common name, however I am proof that is still in use today. It's much more common in the Southern Hemisphere, mostly South Africa and Australia. It was very common in the generations from the 40's to the early 60s. I know people born into the late 50s who have had it. Also commonly found is "Peta-lee". But there is no one I know born after that period (besides myself) that has this name (unless it's a middle name). It has multiple meanings that come from different parts of society. It also is also is a unit prefix in the metric system denoting multiplication by 10(15) i.e. 1000000000000000. As well, the Peta, the Pāli word for a Preta, or hungry ghost in Buddhism. Lastly Peta is the Egyptian word for triangle.I particularly dislike the connotations of being related to the animals rights movement but other people seem to think 'It's beautiful." or "so different".

The writing is not quite correct if it's supposed to be the feminine form of "Peter", which would be "Petra" (with the "r"). [Petra is a different name -ed]
If it was Petra as the feminine of Peter then it wouldn't be quite correct because it would be the feminine form of Petre, and as for Paganqueen look at Petra does it say feminine form of Peter.
