This name has been a favorite since I was very small; I love how it's not been overused, either! The Pearl is sentimental to me, since my grandmother really loved them...Pearl is one of my favorite nature-related names! If you're considering Pearl for your daughter, I totally recommend it.
Pearl is a truly special name. The images that come to mind are anything from a young girl to an old woman. Pearl is a lifelong name, just like a name should be. I always thought this name was okay, but now I truly appreciate it.
I love the name Pearl! I think it is beautiful, and yet strong and timeless. It represents beauty, health, and wealth, so everybody out here, be proud of your name, this is one of my favorites, yet it is a beautiful birthstone! It ages very well, and does not seem dated/outdated at all!
It's an okay name. It's certainly the best of the gemstone names (I can't understand why someone wants to name their child Ruby or Emerald, Diamond, etc.) It's not a timeless name personally, it seems best fit for a young girl (despite the name being outdated). I'm not sure how the name has recently seen a resurgence in popularity, but it's not up to me to name someone else's child.

Beautiful name! I met a Pearl 2 years ago (she was 6 years older than me!), and she was super nice, friendly, and calm.
I have to admit that, of all the jewelry names out there, I like Emerald the most, but Pearl is also very pretty. I think it's a good choice as a middle name, but as a full name it's fine too. Too bad it's an old-fashioned name and you don't hear it often anymore. In Spanish, it would be "Perla", which is also a name and sounds very cool, in case you prefer it more.
I absolutely love this name! It is a great first name and middle name! My name is Maggie which means "Pearl" in Irish and I sometimes go by Pearl for fun! I think that Pearl is a better name to name your child than Margaret.

This name is short and sweet, and I wonder why it is outdated. Really, a name should not be forgotten, especially such a good name as Pearl.
Pearl is a lovely name; sweet and delicate and precious. I really like it. The precious stone Pearl is also really beautiful. I would definitely name my daughter Pearl (my second daughter. The first one will be Alexandra!) Or I could call her Alexandra Pearl. That's a thought!
I didn't like it before, but I like it better now and it seems less dated. I think it makes a nice first or middle name.

My 16 month old is called Pearl and I absolutely love it. I chose it because it is old fashioned and I think it's a pretty name. Her middle name is Ava-Mai which I think goes with Pearl well.

My birth name is Pearl. Named for my paleish complexion... upon birth, when my father took his first look at me and said..."She looks like a white Pearl".
I didn't like this name much before but I like it now. Simple and sweet.

The name Pearl is old-fashioned, vintage, pretty, sweet & beautiful. ^_^ Why on earth is the name Pearl listed as MASCULINE? It really should only be listed as feminine since boys don't get named Pearl... D: [noted -ed]

I love Pearl. It's elegant, simple and old lady chic. Very refined and retrò.
I think it sounds much better as a first name because it would be classic and unusual at the same time. It's not the prettiest name around but it would be really cute on a young girl. As a middle name it sounds way too middle-aged and cliched, one of those monosyllabic middle names it seems like people give as a filler when they can't think of anything else, like Lynn, Leigh, Ann and Rose.
As opposed to elderly, I would call the name classic. I think it goes well with Natasha (i.e. Natasha-Pearl) but that is just my opinion. It can also serve as a nice first name. However, I can't think of any suitable middle names for Pearl.
Pearls may be beautiful, but the word itself doesn't sound very pretty to me. It's not the worst name out there, though, so if it has significance to you, I won't talk you out of it.
Pearl is a lovely name. Ever since I read The Scarlet Letter I have held the name Pearl dear to my heart. Although it is seen by many as an "elderly" name, I believe it is quite beautiful and distinguished. The name Pearl has continued to stand the test of time and it will continue to do so.
I love this name. Maybe not for a first name, but for a middle it would be nice. I think of a plump, very kind and cheerful woman who is a wonderful person.
