This is a French male name- but it is so much prettier than Patricia. Anyway, different names have different meanings in different languages. Ruth, for example, is listed on here as a male name in Limburgish. I just really like this on a girl. It works as a male name too, but it sounds more feminine than masculine. Yes, I know that it is a French male name, though.
Surprise! My name is Patrice. I'm female and I like my name very much. It's not a common name, therefore I don't have 20 people in close proximity walking around with my name. And when I happen to come in contact with another Patrice, there's a sense of camaraderie between us. Making its definition "noblewoman" that more real.

Just to clarify, my name is Patrice and I'm a girl. My parents are actually quite wonderful and most certainly know better. My mam's name is Patricia and I am named after her. Patrice is a boys name in France and considered a girl's name everywhere else. Every Patrice I have met in Ireland is female. This name means noble and I love it. Haters gonna hate :)

I would NEVER use Patrice for a girl, no way! Unless... she were never to leave the US where, for some odd reason, it became a unisex name (apparently, some folks are already trying to give the male name Stephane the same fate, yikes!). Internationally, esp. In the French speaking world, francophone and francophile eyebrows raise when they meet a female Patrice. Not pretty, when I hear Patrice I always think of a man, and when I meet a Patrice (it happened only 1 time, thank goodness) I always think her parents did not know any better when naming her.
