Cute, definitely prefer over Vanessa.
Cute nickname!
It sounds/looks sharp to me; I don't know why. It's an OK name.
I don't even like Vanessa. This name sounds too little-girl-like to me.
I love the name Nessa! I think it's a great name that can be used for all ages. It flows well with other names and has several possible meanings and usages. Just look them up! I've been told it means: 'Holy' in Irish Gaelic, 'Second' in Cornish, and is the feminine form of Ness which I'm told is a male Scottish name or word meaning Nose or a portion of land sticking out into a body of water AKA a Loch. =) But I don't know any of this to be factual for certain. I did pick the name because of Scottish roots, the possibility of the meaning of "second" and that it's the name of the Mother of Conor, King of Ulster. And I find that really cool. So I found it very suitable for my situation. And have been told several times, "Oh that would make such a gorgeous name for a little girl".It is one of my most favorite names of all time. And I would be proud to use it for a human, if I didn't already have a dog named Nessa =) I hope I haven't ruined the name for anyone! "Nessa was the mother of Conchobhar (Conor) Mac Nessa, king of Ulster. A powerful and beautiful woman, ambitious for her son, she tricked her second husband, Fergus, into giving up his kingdom to his stepson, Conchobhar (Conor), for a year, but Conchobhar (Conor) ruled so wisely and so well that the people chose him to be their permanent king."
I really love the names Nessa and Nesser and Nestor.
