I think Nathan is a beautiful name. It is strong, handsome, and timeless. It ages with flawless grace, and it rolls off the tongue smoother than butter. I also appreciate the nickname “Nathan”. Overall, I think Nathan is a wonderful name.
I think Nathan is a very handsome sounding name. I do like Nate as a nickname. Nathaniel used to be my favourite name but now I prefer the simplicity of Nathan.
I think the name Nathan is wonderful, I have a friend and he is really nice. When you say that the name is garbage you are wrong it is handsome, kind, loyal, caring, and a lot more. The name means "gift of God" you should be glad if you have this name and do not be rude about it.
This is a great name! It’s a little overused but it’s wonderfully old fashioned. It makes me think of a poor but happy 19th-century farmer in overalls and a straw hat. This is also the name of my crush, so it also makes me think of a loud, slightly silly guy with cutely crooked teeth.
My name is Nathan. I came in here to see if people actually liked the name given to me at birth and I am pleasantly surprised! I’ve always liked my name but my mom said when I was a baby they almost called me Aidan, and I love that name but I’m okay with the one I have now. It also flows with my full name; Nathan Liam J___. Has a ring to it, I think.
I am Chinese. I like the name. It sounds simple but it reminds me of a young man, handsome and gentle.

Being a fan of Repo! The Genetic Opera, the character of Nathan Wallace immediately comes to mind when I hear the name Nathan. He was kind of crazed, so I wouldn't call that a good association, ha ha. Still, it's not a bad name otherwise, and most people probably won't come to this association from hearing the name.
The youngest of my 3 sons is Nathan, I love the name! It was my first pick, just needed my husband's ok! He agreed, he's now 13 and the name is not super popular which I like! He gets called Nate a lot which is ok with him.
My brother's name is Nathan, he's currently 13 and mainly gets called, "Nathan" not many people shorten it, but when they do he gets "Nath" or "Nathman" the annoying thing is that our last name is 'Smith' so there's quite a few of them around. But overall he loves it, it flows well with his middle name too, "Thomas",

I never really liked this name until I saw the movie Abduction. Now, I don't mind it. Funny how certain people can change your perception of a name.
I agree with Nathan. Zhang's opinion above. One of the characters that I have created for my books bears this name, and though it is a cool, handsome, intelligent and slightly dark name, he is the object of no one's affections. He is also a soldier, and dies young. I love this name, but I wouldn't name my son this because there are names I love even more.
Wow, I love this name and have ever since I was a kid. I am so sad that it has spiked in popularity since 1980, so it won't be as unique 20 years from now. Oh well. I don't like "Nate" as a nickname, I would just use the full Nathan. Someone mentioned Nathan as a nickname for Jonathan. That's a neat idea! I like it.
I really like this name. It sounds masculine, yet modern and it just would be cute on a little boy, but isn't a name you could grow out of. I would definitely consider naming my son Nathan, or Nathanael "Nathan".

I have Nathan as a middle name and hated it for years. I always questioned my parents as to why they chose it, and the answer was "as an option in case you didn't like your first name."Now, I've never liked my first name either, especially as it's becoming very common and says very little about me. But when people hear my middle name it always draws positive comments, to the extent that I'm considering taking my parent's option and just introducing myself as Nathan, or Nate, from now on.
I happen to be named "Nathan". My name originally was "Nanthan", but that was Chinglish and I got it changed in high school after becoming a US citizen. My impression of the name, given my interests (aviation, commerce, and military matters) is that the name would do well for someone who leads a large group of people, such as airline pilots and managers and ATC and AAE (airport executives), Chief Executive Officers of multinational and transnational (and soon transplanetary) corporations, and for military commanders of Colonel rank and above. In fact, that is one of my career desires - to join the military after I graduate from college and work for promotion to General. When I do that I guess I will add more value to this name. The reason not a lot of people have the name is because having the name and knowing what it means usually results in selfless giving (such as being a soldier) and dying young. It should never be given to any objects of affection.
I think this is a perfect name for a boy. Not too delicate, not too rough. Nathan could be anything from an all-star athlete to a corporate millionare. Highly recommended.
On a man (not a child, thank you) this name is the perfect blend of brains and sexy. This guy is the star football player who gets straight A's in High school. Grows up to be a Lawyer, Doctor, CEO but drives his motorcycle to work. This name is so freakin hot!

My younger brother's name is Nathan as well. I think it is a perfect balance of civilization yet strong masculinity. The prophet Nathan in the Old Testament was a man of great faith in God and courage to stand up to King David when he sinned. I hope and pray that my brother becomes a man of great faith and courage.
I love the name Nathan, but don't like Nate. Almost everyone I know named Nathan is called Nate, and most of them are very anoying. It is way too common in my opinion, but I love Nathan.
Nathan is a great name. If I named my son this I would definitely call him Nate. You don't hear it that often.

I love the name Nathan. It reminds of a man who is kind, gentle and rugged and handsome. It is popular but not overly so, I can't think of any that have been in my son's classrooms.

My brother's name is Nathan and everyone calls him Nate. I really like the name, I don't see it much. I've only met one other Nathan in my entire life.
