Mitsuko

Mitsuko Baisho is a Japanese actress, whose most internationally known work has been for director Shohei Imamura, from 1979 up to the director's final film in 2002. Baisho has also appeared in films of Akira Kurosawa. She won awards for best actress at the 10th Hochi Film Award for Love Letter and Ikiteru Uchi ga Hana nano yo Shindara Sore made yo to Sengen. She also won the award for best supporting actress at the 8th Hochi Film Award for The Geisha and at the 22nd Hochi Film Award for Tokyo Lullaby.

Mitsuko Souma is the name of one of the main antagonists in "Battle Royale".

A famous bearer is Mitsuko Horie (b. 1957), a Japanese voice actress and singer best known for the theme songs she provided for countless popular anime series in the 1970s and 1980s.

A famous bearer is Mitsouko, the perfume by Guerlain. "Mitsouko" is the French transliteration.

In Jisatsu Circle (Aka Suicide Club) by Furuya Usamaru, this name was a bit of an anomally. With each wave of the club, the sole survivor would become the new leader of the club, shed their given name and surname and would be known simply as "Mitsuko". It's ironic that in such a dark series, the leader of the group would be called "Light Child".

Mitsuko was the main character in Little Sister and The Heavenword Path by Kara Dalkey. These two books are about life in imperial Japan. Mitsuko's nickname was Mitsu.
