I would pronounce this name as Meer-ah not My-rah.. my-rah feels so harsh. I love this name and it has such a lovely meaning. Sweet and gentle yet simple. I hope to see more of it in the future.

I always thought of Mira (pronounced "mear-uh") as a stand-alone name being very refined, elegant, and mature-sounding, kind of fit for the daughter of some rich well-to-do family.
As a nickname for Miranda, Mirabelle, Miriam, etc., it's a little too cutesy for my tastes. It kind of ruins the image I originally held for the name in itself.

This name is considered very dated in Croatia today. It's cute, but I wouldn't use it.
