Milka 2

One of the more confused names on the internet, since origins and usage of the various forms are completely confused. Hebrew Milcah, Slavic Milka, and Czech/Polish/Finnish diminutives of Emilia have further been confused with Germanic Amilia/Amalia to produce a completely spurious meaning of "industrious" (not even accurate for Amilia, since the suggested Germanic root means tribulation/suffering, not work, and resulted in Norse (alone) of a sense of "useless/Sisyphean work". The root sense of "work" seems to have been taken from the unconnected Semitic root, Hebrew/Arabic Amal "work/deed". The Germanic root begins with Amalric whose name must be construed only as "Amal (a Gothic clan/dynasty)+ ruler", and we must question at this point whether Amal in this context is Germanic at all (the Goths at this point being a multi-ethnic federation of East German, Alan [steppe Iranians], Hun, and Turkic families).
