But it's kinda cute actually!
Name your daughter this if you and her remain happy lifelong.
Kinda silly LOL!
People would tease you, saying "Merry Christmas, Merry!" I like this name, but it could just not work.
Oh, I love it! Merry sounds a lot more charming and distinctive than typical names like Mary, Marcie, or Meryl. And besides, it can be a lovely nickname for other longer names, like Meredith, Meribeth, Merida or Merilyn. Yes, I definitely love it. Now that I think about it... isn't there a certain hobbit with the same name? I think I like it better now.
It looks like a butchering version of Mary.
Ridiculous name.
Merry would be good as a middle name. Amanda Merry or Ava Merry both sound good. As a first name, just a little too cute.
I like Merry!I really dislike to see it as nickname for an austere name like Mercy.Instead I love its simplicity, its Medieval vibe and its 'glee, cheerful' meaning.
It's pretty and sprightly. Once met a woman named Merry, who looked to be in her '50s or '60s. I always thought it must've been pretty neat for her to stand out among all the Mary's growing up.
Perfect for this time of year.
Sounds weird. Maybe if your name is Meredith or Mercy, it would sound fine. But as a legal name, it wouldn't work and would lead to teasing.
I love this name! However, whenever I see it, I'm tempted to pronounce it like how Mary is pronounced.
I know someone who's name is just Merry, she likes the name but gets annoyed when anyone calls her Mary or makes jokes about "Merry Christmas."
My friends name is Marianna she goes by Merry. I also think that Merry would NOT be a good nickname for America. A girl I know goes by the name America. She does not like Merry but prefers Rica. I agree with her.
