This is a nice name! I would have thought of it as a variation of ‘merit’, which I like, but the actual meaning and origin is nice too. It has a slightly spunky sound, a very lovely unisex name :D.

Merritt is my last name and it doesn't sound plain or anything else. It can be a first name or used as a last name too.

Sounds like the verb 'to merit'. Also has a very geeky feeling to it.
