I love this name so much! It's mythological, but with a Latin American and European feel to it. Wonderful. However, I think I might prefer the spelling Melaena.

To add to my earlier comment, Melaina and Lily would be awesome twin girl names.

Melaina is the most prettiest name ever. Usually used as for a girl, and is gorgeous. If you ever meet a Melaina you should be careful they are very easily hurt, when I say that I mean their feelings. And never let go of Melaina- she's totally worth it!

Gorgeous name. However, I unfortunately happen to know an overly sensitive and very flaky woman named this. Because of that witch, I don't see myself ever using this name.

Absolutely gorgeous. An alternative to "Melanie" with a Hispanic twist.

This name is really pretty. It's less common than Melanie, which is also nice.
