So cute! Perhaps easier to pronounce than Marigold for non-english speakers.

Galit means "wave" (ocean wave) in Hebrew, and the prefix mar- means "bitter", (the same as for Mary), but Margalit all together means pearl. Pearls and ocean waves are both associated with water. Mar- is often paired with -iam, (Mariam...) which means "sea" in Hebrew too.

Might be derived from Margaret, but Margalit is also a word in Hebrew, a type of precious stone. [noted -ed]
