It’s awesome as a nickname for Madeline.
I think this should be a nickname for Madyson because it looks stranger as a nickname for Madison.
This is fine, but Maddie is better. I would use Maddie for Madison, and Maddy for Madelyn/Madeline/Madeleine.
To be honest, I don't understand why people think this is "trashy". It's honestly a real pretty name!
M.a.d.d.i.e.
This name is somewhat cute but extremely common. In a class of 11 there are 2 Jessica’s and 3 Maddy’s.
Maddie is the better spelling. Still an immature name either way.
My name is Madeline (Mad-Ah-Lynn) and I am called Maddy by everyone. I have always really liked my name, Madeline, and always hated "Maddy". But, others insisted. Now that I'm a bit older, the nickname "Maddy" really fits my personality, so I don't mind it at all anymore. However, If you want your daughter called "Maddy", give her a nice mature sounding name like Madeline or Madeliene so she can decide for herself what she is called.
Good as a nickname and it reminds me of Maddie Ziegler too much even though that’s not her real name.
Okay as a nickname, but not as a full name.
I personally don't like this name, sorry if this is offensive to some who likes or has the name. I feel like it's a really babyish name because it's really short and too small. I haven't met any adult Maddy's but I don't think it's a great adult name.
Infantile. Not having a longer name like Madeleine to fall back on in adulthood would be unfortunate.
