This is not a new name folks. It's a very old Welsh name that means son of the Lord. It's a very strong, very classic name. I named my son Maddox and get constant compliments on his name. I just love it.

Technically Madoc is the Old Welsh name. Maddox is a surname meaning "son of Madoc". The regular use of Maddox as a given name, as opposed to Madoc, is in fact quite recent.
