I don't think it was used much before that, if at all.In France Lyana and Lyanna are pronounced differently. I have only seen Lyana in France as lee-ah-na and Lyanna as lee-uhn-na.But Lyanna (Game of Thrones) is lie-ann-a. And the usage seems to be entirely tied to the series in both France and the US.
