Lorna sounds like the preacher’s daughter in a small town.

I love Lorna. It is a unique, original and completely charming name. Seriously, I wish it was a little better known, because I feel like nobody knows it. Much better than Loren, Lorrie or Lorina, I assure you.
I am a Lorna and I don't really like my name. I consider it to be a made up name. Also, people have no idea how to spell it! I have had Launa, Lawna and Lorner. Also get called Laura a lot.
My daughter was born in 2014 and I named her Lorna. I'm so glad I did. It's so elegant and kind to the ears. It's not a common name in the United States for her age group, and can only assume it's because parents are concerned about the association with Lorna Doone cookies (because people don't generally know that Lorna Doone was first a book before it became a Nabisco favorite). But I love her name and she receives many positive comments on it. I mean, let's face it, it's an upper-class name that fits a variety of women and their various styles.

My name is also Lorna and I have a beautiful surname so I feel unique! On the internet I have only found one other person with my name and surname. I'm British and my family pronounces Lorna more like Luna. I now live in Italy where they roll their "R" and I prefer it!

Lorna is a lovely name and also my older sister's. It is strange how people think of a fair skinned girl with dark hair as a Lorna because that is just like my sister.
Even though my name is Lorna. I don't like it. It isn't original. To all the people who don't like the name, I don't either so I agree. But I have to live with it. For the people who think they have an image of what a 'Lorna' looks like, everyone is different. Me? I sit on a computer, have boy-short dirty blonde hair and wear glasses. That should give you a pretty good image of a Lorna.
When you say LORNA, I think of Doom. Because of Lorna Doone. I haven't read it but I've seen the Blurb. No offense to the Lornas though.

It's a very beautiful name. When I picture a "Lorna" I picture a very beautiful, clear-skinned girl with flowing dark hair standing on a mountain on a stormy evening. It's very romantic and dramatic!

There's a girl in my class called Lorna. It is a pretty and uncommon name but I find it kind of hard to pronounce. Also it is very similar to Laura when you say it, which puts me off the name as I don't like Laura.
