Sounds so outdated. It was usable probably like 50 years ago. I can’t picture a young Lois.

I feel like it could get mispronounced as Loys. It's not that nice, not very soft or easy on the ear and has an awkward spelling. Sounds more masculine than feminine.

This name has really grown on me. I think it is chic, classy and stylish. I like its length, uniqueness, and the fact that it is in the Bible. Overall, I think Lois is an awesome name.

Like it a lot, sounds a little strange, can't think of many nicknames for it, but I think it's really pretty. Kind of a dark/mysterious vibe? But also cute.

As a Lois myself, I think anyone should be proud to carry such a unique and pretty name. I've never come across another Lois before and I feel like that is something special indeed.

On the day of my Baptism, Mom chose the name "Karen" for me. The priest told her that as far as he knew, Karen wasn't a Christian name. When told to choose another, Mom looked toward my brother's back pocket where he'd stashed a Superman comic book. A light bulb lit up and she chose the name Lois. I've always been happy to carry it; it's not common, I've only met a few others and it's simple to say and spell. Well, you'd think so, but it's been mispronounced and butchered over the years. For instance, if I don't spell it over the phone for doctors, I become Louise or Louis. My nicknames have been everything from Lo-lo to Lo-isimmo to "Dois" (a mispronunciation from a 4 year-old) But my favorite is whoever misspelled it to a junk-mail provider and called me "Luis". I get lots of mail from companies selling testosterone pills or Hispanic political candidates. I don't mind. It's only one of my names. My last name has 14 letters and five syllables and there's a whole OTHER story about that one.

This is a classic name, and the name of a relative. RIP, dear. I like it.

I am the 7th generation "Lois" from my mother's family. My grandmother and aunt were named Lois and before them great grandmothers and great aunts, etc. Sad to think I will be the last Lois of this wonderful name in the family, but hey if it's meant to be, so be it.

Lois is a wonderful name. It's cute, pretty and unique. I think it's really interesting how this was the name of Timothy's grandmother. I had discovered this name because of the character Lois Lane (Superman's love interest).

Lois is a beautiful, endearing name. In my family, it is bittersweet. Lois Ann was the name of my grandma's younger sister who died of meningitis at the age of 2 in 1936. When I hear this name, it brings joy to my heart and a tear to my eye.

I just love this name. I can't quite put my finger on why, though. And I love the sound of "Lois Lane." Alliteration makes everything better.

It means laws or code in French. I think it has a mild sound to it, somewhere between the line of feminine and masculine. In other words it's not very feminine or very masculine. That doesn't make it a bad choice for a name, indeed it's a sweet name.

I am a Lois, it is not ugly, and I am tired of small minded, insecure individuals who relieve their own insecurities by belittling others, ahh the mark of an unintelligent person is to resort to personal insults as they haven't the brain power to defend themselves any other way. It takes a strong woman to carry this name, strong indeed to carry it, defend it, work it, and be proud of it, despite the constant negativity spewed at us. This is a beautiful name. It's very catchy. If I have a daughter I'll name her Lois.

My youngest daughter is named Lois and I think it is a lovley name. It suits her down to a 'T' - she was born prematuly due to me carrying her so low so Lois was the ideal name, and of couse being the name of Superman's girlfriend.

I LOVE the name Lois and knowing that her name is of the person in the Superman comics makes it SOOOO much better! I really love it!

I like this. It's simple but not too plain like Jane etc. Lois is also feminine, pretty and sounds wonderful.

I don't particularly like this name, it reminds me of a nagging, American house wife.
