In Hebrew and Arabic the word Leila or Laila means "night", "dark" and the name is often given to girls born during the night, signifying "daughter of the night".This is my dead name but I think it's cringe (my opinion though).
It is of Arabic origin, and the meaning of Leila is "night beauty". Used by authors for the names of exotic female characters in the early 19th century.
LEILA is Arabic for 'dark' and 'born of night.'
There are FOUR ways of spelling the name:
LAYLA, LAILA, LEILA, LEYLA.
There is a woman politician called Layla Zana.
I'm not sure but I think it means Love in Urdu. I'll have to check on it.
