I think Lei is an elegant name for a female. Along with the additional Chinese meaning of thunder, Lei also has Italian, Irish and Scottish meanings. In Italian it means she, and when capitalised, a form of address for either gender. In Irish it means strait (as in passage of water); field; church. In Scottish it also means strait, and is the name of a Scottish region.
