As an author, Larissa is one of the names of the girls in my story, and slowly, the character builds, into a name that I love. It is strong, and sweet. Incredible name.

I'm not really sure why I like this name, but I think it has something to do with the "L" at the beginning. I think it rolls off the tongue easier than Karissa or Carissa. I also like Clarissa.

While I actually like Marissa, and Melissa is so common that it sounds mature to me, this name, along with Carissa and Clarissa, just sounds really girly and youthful. It sounds too cutesy for a grown-up, somehow.
