Kristin is my name, and my mom wanted to spell it Christine after her cousin, in honour of her Franco/Algerian heritage. My dad being Norwegian wanted the Scandinavian spelling, being Kristin. The pronunciation is supposed to be Kris-teen, it just sounds melodic when being pronounced in Scandinavian countries as well as France.
What drives me nuts is that Anglo-saxons just have a very rough way of saying it and it sounds more like Krisss-tiin. If you're going to go with that version and live somewhere, where people have simple names, keep it simple is my thought! With that said, I wouldn't change my name for the world.
Pronounced kris-TEEN in Swedish.
My name is Kristin, and I pronounce it Kris-Tin.
Kristin is also pronounced KRIS-tin. I love this name (pronounced KRIS-tin), and spelled this way, with an "i". Kristin, is much, much prettier than with an "e", Kristen. I also love Kristin Kreuk. She is in such cool, offbeat stuff, and she is one of the most beautiful actresses out there.
There's a girl at my school with this name and she pronounces it KRIS-ten.

This name is pronounced Kris-TEEN in Germany (the way Christine is pronounced in France and the USA).
