Carenza was the name of an elderly woman of medieval France who wrote a poem with two younger female poets. The poem begins "Lady Carenza of the lovely, gracious body" ("Na Carenza al bel cors avinen"). Carenza represents the virgin. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alais,_Yselda,_and_CarenzaI almost prefer the medieval spelling "Carenza" to the less phonetical Kerensa.
