I just don't understand people's problem with my name. It's great to have an opinion but keep it to yourself! Having a childish name just shows your inner child! There's nothing wrong with a childish name at age 20. Y'all need to chill.
As someone who has this name, it hurts to see people saying they prefer other versions. I love my name and yes, I agree, it has a lot of y's, I feel like that's what makes it unique though.
One of the great benefits of having a name most people seem to not like and that nobody can pronounce or spell correctly (from my experience of having it) is that almost nobody has it -- no cases of mistaken identity to deal with like what my relatives have all the time, and they have extremely common names. Not once have I ever come across another Kayelynn, not even another variant of the name. A few Kaitlyn's or Caitlyn's though. I used to hate my name because at some point I was told it was a made-up, childish name, but it's actually a cute name IMO.
Kaylyn is a very cute name for a girl! I don't care if it's modern or young-sounding... better than all the names that have been used a million times over the past centuries that don't fit a young girl.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only Kailin here! (And I know mine is spelled different) I always got annoyed with my name because people often confused it with Kaitlyn, but I like my name now because it is really unique.

Yeah... definitely not a form of Katherine. It's literally just a combination of Kay and Lyn.
I love this name and my name is the same except mine is spelled differently it's Cailyn and honestly, I have a bunch of my teachers and boys saying they like my name and that it sounds very grown up.
This name is very nice. It also is nice spelt Caylyn, Caelyn, Cailin, Cailyn, Kailyn, Kailin, Kaelyn, Caelin, Kaelin, Cahlen, Cahlyn, Kahlyn, Caylen, Kaylen, Kaelen, Caelen and Kahlen. I know! In reality there are 18 spellings!
I am a man and my middle name is Kalen. I used to hate it as a child, because I thought it sounded girly, but I have grown to love it. I think it sounds strong, like that of a warrior. One meaning of the name actually is warrior, though more often it means slender. While I am slender, I go with the warrior meaning ;) I realize it is spelled differently, but that is partially due to the fact that I have never met another man with the name, though I've met a few girls. I love it and wouldn't trade it for anything. I think (with my spelling), it can be a very strong boys name.

My name is Kaylyn! I've also met one other with this name, a black male named Kaylin... I love my name and I think it's beautiful and unique.. I'm 27 now, and I just saw the other day that my name is now in the top 100! (although with a different spelling) I cant wait to meet some other little Kaylyns in the future! :)
Sound: Very pretty. Originality: 8/10. I've heard other forms of it. Spelling: Its nice. But the silent "Y" after the "A" doesn't make sense to me. Overall: It's a pretty name.
"Kaylyn" and all it's forms are tacky, cheap, and incredibly lower-class looking... Kre8tiv and made-up. Infantile. Juvenile. Unprofessional. Uneducated.

My name is Kaylyn, and I don't think I fit the description you gave me based on my name, anon who posted on 6/3/2011. I have above average IQ, attend a GT Academy, play the piano and cello, been accepted into the Regional orchestra in middle school, auditioning for All-State in a year, and practice Political Debate and public speaking. I don't believe you should judge someone as lower class, unprofessional, uneducated, and infantile based on their name. It's very rude. You probably wouldn't be happy if I described you in the same way.
I'm not a giant fan of the name, but I disagree that people won't take you seriously- I know a girl named Kaylyn who is very respected among her peers and teachers. She's also one of the smartest people I know!

My girlfriend's name is Kaylyn. I love the name. It's so cute! Her nickname's KATE, or Kay. It's certainly a lovely name, and one of my personal favourites!
It sounds a tad more mature than Kayley and all its variations, but that's not saying much at all. It's just another bland, lazily constructed, unimaginative name with little class.
I love the sound of this name, but much prefer the spelling Kalen, which I have seen on females. I do not agree with the school of thought that says the name won't be taken seriously. Names such as Kaylyn are currently trendy, and so in years to come, there will be lawyers, doctors, etc with these names. One day they will even seem old and dated, before coming back into fashion. Such is the cycle of names.
Uh, that is a little harsh. All because it ends with lynn doesn't mean that this name is childish and would be bad for anyone older than twenty. I personally think names with the ending lynn sound very mature compared to other names.
