My main question is why? Katherine is better as Katherine. Katheryne is just a hassle to spell when you could just put Katherine.

This is literally one letter from Katherine. I also agree Katherine looks better.

A beautiful variation - a friend of mine has this name, and although it is a bit difficult to learn to spell (at least for me!), it is a nice spin on a classic name.
