I've always hated this name with a flaming passion. It's very immature-sounding. Most guys named Junior I've met have been trashy and badly-behaved (and more often than not football hooligans).
I've always, with a flaming passion, much pitied people who make ignorant, baseless generalisations. As much as I've always much pitied those, who fallaciously deduce the quality of a name with whomever shared/shares it.On that note, Junior, is a Superb name. :)
Junior is also a euphemism for your johnson - I have never understood why people gravitate towards this name, it's maybe the least sexiest name out there, like Nigel or Ernest.
I actually really like this name as a nickname for any J name. I think the fact that people use it as a nickname because it's the same name as the dad's is a bit...weird BUT the name is cute!
This is just stupid as a legit name- sorry but it is. It is a title which will have everyone assuming that his name is something else. If the father's name was say, Andrew David, they're going to assume that the son's name is Andrew David as well. Also, imagine an old man named this. That would be so ironic and hysterical. Think before you name your children. Why is common sense so rare these days?

I've only met one person named Junior, and it wasn't his real name, it was just a nickname. But at least if he got sick of that, he could just tell people to stop calling him Junior and start calling him by his real name. If your real name was Junior, you'd have to change it instead of just getting rid of an old nickname. This is why it's better to just name your kid after you and nickname him Junior.
This is not a name. It is a title. You name your kid this and everyone is going to assume that their name is actually, say, Mark Anthony named after the dad but chooses to be referred to as a jr.

My son is called Junior, as his real name. I really like the name. As his nickname we call him JJ for his middle name and he loves it. He is only 4 but even when he is older I'm sure the name will suit.

Not only does Daddy Dearest sound narcissistic, he's too self-absorbed to realize that his poor son may face mockery. As a given name, it won't fit when Junior's a grown man. Plus it sounds like a trailer trash name.
This name only sounds right to me when it's a nickname, although I'm not a fan of naming a child after yourself. Like as a term of endearment even if the child is not really named after the parent would be cute.
No way. It's so juvenile and demeaning. Even if your son has the same name as his father, NEVER call him Junior! He has his own identity, you know. This is a nickname, not a legal name.
What sort of an idiot names their son Junior? It sounds like the name some egomaniac would choose, as he sees his son as nothing more than a continuation of himself and as an extension of his ego, and doesn't give a rat's ass that the name sounds trailer trash-y and infantile, and that the son will never be taken seriously.
This is a disgusting name, it's like naming your kid Little Version of Me. It is horrible and I hate it when dads call their kids this, it is just tacky.
We were given a dog with the name Junior. I hate it because every time I call him from the backyard I sound like trailer park trash. Just try hollering this name and you'll understand!
