Joss

Joss sticks. Not bad, otherwise.

I haven't found anything terribly objectionable about the name/nickname Joss. It isn't striking... but it also isn't awful. I prefer it to be a diminutive, and I see it more on a male bearer.

It strikes me as masculine upon first impression. Standard abbreviation for Joseph is Jos, but I suppose it could also be spelled Joss.

Could be a nickname for Josephine if you pronounce it with a long O like in ocean... Just a thought :)

It's an okay nickname, but a little minimalist to be the official name of a person. It actually sounds quite masculine, so it would be better to name a daughter Jocelyn and call her Joss.

I first heard of this name from Joss Whedon. I think it's a great name for a boy or a girl.
