You can love your neighbor as yourself, too, or your brother, or your cat, but that doesn't mean you're IN love with them.It's a friendship story, NOT a love story. They did love each other as brothers, and that's it. Although I wouldn't have a problem with naming a son Jonathan David. I think that's quite handsome :)
