I’ve always thought of this name as a nickname for Jonathan but I recently just met someone with the formal name of this. No not John, just Jon without an h. Strange.
Seems incomplete without the H, I would prefer this name if it were short for Jonathan.

Unless it's short for Jonathan, I don't like this spelling. "Jon" as a full name feels kind of pseudo-trendy, whereas "John" seems more weighty and classic.

I agree with the comment above me John as a full name is more former & classic whereas Jon is more trendy.

Jon looks boring and incomplete without the H, and it makes me think of Jon Gosselin.
I think this name is a newer form of John, and I like it a lot better. Every John that I know, has told me that when he or she (I have met one little girl named Jon Grace, but I wouldn't name my daughter Jon), has always misspelled their name when they were little. They spelled it Jonh, or Jon, simply because you don't even hear the H sound in the name, and it was hard for them to remember to put it in when they couldn't hear it. So I prefer Jon.
