My (much) younger sister has a classmate named Jett. It certainly stands out next to children named Mary or Oscar, but I don't think it's a good name for an adult in the workplace.
Oh I LOVE this name for a boy. Unique and strong. Considering it for son.
Jett is a great unisex name, but I really like it as a girl's name! It makes me think of Joan Jett and because of that I think of Jett as a cool, artistic, punk rocker chick. I think Jett combined with a more feminine sounding middle name would be an excellent choice for someone wanting something modern for a name.
Cool, masculine name — makes me think of a man with a little bit of mystery to him.
I think that Jet, Jett, and Jette could also be good nicknames for Jeanette/Jeannette, Marinette, Annette, Jacquette, and other names with a similar sound.
Jet, Jett, and Jette are so pretty! For a girl, I would use this as a nickname for Harriet/Henriette, Mariette, Margaret, Juliette, or Georgette. :)
We named our son Jet. He has black hair. For some reason the double TTs looked feminine to me even though it’s a more popular spelling. My kids like it because it is a character on Avatar.
My daughter's name is Jett Aria. I think it’s unique, and beautiful. My daughter fits the name very well.
This is an awesome, tough sounding name for a boy/man. I really like it.
I really like Jette for a girl as a nickname for Henriette or Harriet and Jett for a boy. I don't like the spelling Jett for a girl or Jette for a boy and they aren't interchangeable for me because of their separate origins.
Jett is a good strong masculine name!
What an awesome boy name! Jett definitely looks better than jet.
My one year old son's name is Jett Black. Most people LOVE his name. Those who don't care for it are typically the same ones who like more popular, traditional and generic names such as John, Mike, Jim, etc. My name is Shanna. Growing up, I loved that my name was different from everyone else's! I went to an all girls Catholic high school. In one classroom of 28 girls, we had 5 Melissa's and 7 Jennifer's. Talk about confusing! I loved having my own identity and never being confused for anyone else. My son now has a different and very strong name! I agree with an above comment... This name will make him strong, light-hearted, give him a sense of humor, and a strong, memorable identity. He WILL own his name! :)
I love this name. It's strong and masculine. Definitely like it spelled with 2 t's.
Our son's name is Jett and we get nothing but compliments on it! Strong masculine name!
For me this name has been nothing but a blessing. It brought me strength and confidence because I will be honest, people did and do comment on it. But my mom was awesome in how she taught me to address it and now it almost makes me laugh when people make fun of my amazing name. It is a very strong name and it will contribute to a very strong personality. It will take people off guard when you introduce yourself as Jett; and for those bearing this name we don't have a problem with that. It is intense, dramatic, to the point and unique and every Jett I have had the honor to meet, be they male or female have had some serious confidence and good humor about this name. But it comes with some serious attitude too, so be prepared for that. And we get really excited when we meet others who bear our name ;)
I love this name! It's definitely a boy name though and not girly at all!
My 3 yr old son is named Jett Conroy. I love his name and we have received all good feedback on it! It's unique and masculine. Our son has dark brown hair, brown eyes and olive skin, so it definitely fits him!
My name is Jetlyn and my friends call me Jet. I personally like Jet better than Jett. I LOVE my name though, and no one can tell me different!
I like this name for a boy, HOWEVER I personally hate it spelled with two t's; it's SO much better with just one t at the end as that's the proper spelling of the black gemstone.
No words can describe how absolutely ridiculous it is that people use this as a name for their children.
Jett is a strong name. Very unique, memorable, masculine, and sporty. Love it!
I have a friend who named their son "Jet". She said if she had a girl, she would have used "Jett".
I prefer this name spelled "Jet" rather than with two T's, but other than that I LOVE it.
I picture a 50s greaser with a leather jacket (complete with the cigarette pack in the front pocket) wearing sunglasses and smoking against a brick wall. That, or a member of an 80s power metal band.
Jett? Might as well name him Turbopropp.
This name is just plain ridiculous.
I love this name. It would be awesome as a middle name.
Such a strong, dark, masculine name. He wouldn't get sand kicked in his face in the playground with a name like this. Love it.
I quite like Jett as a nickname for a Bridget or Juliet. It's spunky and I could imagine a sweet, slightly tomboy, fun, free-spirited child and adult.
Jett is an abso-frekin-lutely AWESOME name! I happen to have this name and it's really cool. So all you that think it's a bad name you suck. Yeah I live in INDIANA and if anyone one else has this name get on myspace or something, I want to meet you.
Jett is better for a boy and Jetta for a girl. I don't like either name.
I love it! Strong, and masculine. Can be "dressed up, or dressed down". I prefer the spelling Jet, like the martial arts actor, Jet Li.
I like the name Jett for a boy or a girl, I like Jetlyn for a girl with the nickname Jet/Jett.
There was a Jett in my son's grade 1 class. I also knew a couple that named their son Jett James. Myself, I don't particulary like this name.
