Jay Landsman (played by Delaney Williams) is a fictional homicide detective in the Baltimore Police Department in the TV show The Wire. He is based on and named after a real BPD homicide detective, who was featured in the book Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets by David Simon, who created The Wire. The real Jay Landsman also played the character Dennis Mello in The Wire.

Jay Robinson - an actor probably best known for his riotous and famous role as Emperor Caligula in "The Robe" (1953) and "Demetrius and the Gladiators." (1954). I am not sure of his real name. I don't think Jay is an independent name.
