The meaning on this is very nice and I love love love the gemstone association! Jasper is such a gorgeous stone, I think it would be a great namesake to have :D Jas and Jazzy would be good nicknames, too.
So classy - an absolute “gem” of a name. I also like Casper, but the friendly ghost association is off putting, but Jasper is an even better alternative! It gives me similar vibes to Felix, yet I like it even more. I love the Cruella character too.
I didn't care for Jasper when I first heard it. It was just clunky whenever I said it. But I do like it now, it's neat & modern! Gaining in popularity though. I love the nickname Jas.
I really like Jasper for a boy! Casper is also nice. For a girl I feel mostly neutral on a it but I definitely can’t say that I like it. I do like the nickname Jazzy though (But I would prefer that for Jasmine or a name similar). Jasper is a rugged handsome name. The stone aspect of it only makes it more cool and interesting on a boy. There are so many stone names for girls! Let the boys have this one! I think of a smart and good-looking boy when I see this name. Jasper in the Bible was a male, so it would be a bit iffy on a girl but I’m not religious so... I would be happy to use Jasper as a first or middle name. The meaning “treasurer” is so precious and nice. It's also kinda sexy.I also think of that kid from Henry Danger.
I love the name Jasper! I personally think it's unisex and I think that the name Jasper on a little girl would be absolutely adorable, especially with a super feminine middle name like Madeleine or Elodie.
Like names that end with -er a lot, and I feel like this one is a lot better than Casper. It seems a bit pet-like though, but it has a great sound to it.
Personally, I love it so much. It reminds me of my favorite character in Twilight, Jasper Hale. If one day I have a child I am going to name him/her Jasper. If I could, I would change my name to Jasper right away.
This is my name, I hate how it gets such a bad reputation. I personally love my name. I see how many people name their pets Jasper and I think it's a bit odd but who am I to talk, my cat is named Max and my brother's is named Bowser!
That awkward combination of weird and wimpy. I'll pass on this name.

I've been a Jasper since 1982. Still have not met another one in person. It is strange. I am named after the place in Alberta... middle name is Lee... blah blah. Twilight should have been an exciting thing... but... How exciting can it really be to suddenly have your unusually rare name become a favorite among those who get knocked up while watching strangely lacking vampire movies? I met various infants who shared my name at that time... but... I have yet to meet a real Jasper. 1982 to 2019... not a single Jasper. Kinda gets to you... I ain't never felt like no part of all the Scott and Jeremy and Sarah and Kimberly and so on... No Dave. No Richard. No goddamned Debbie. Just.. always knew I would have to spend a few extra seconds explaining my damned name at every corner... Now... I have to throw in the "I was born before the Twilight shit, by far... and yes, I totally think it's "crazy" that 'Jasper' was some creature in those stories... or whatever... Sometimes I regret not having argued when I was named. I'd have made a completely passable Dave.
My son is named Jasper Lee. My great-grandpa's middle name was Jasper. Lee is after my husband, best friend, grandpa, and great-grandma. When we originally picked Jasper for his first name, I didn't realize that it was a family name. Our oldest child has a completely random name, so it felt awesome to continue with our 2nd and last baby and have a family name. I love that both of my kids names you DON'T hear at all!
The name Jasper is way too outdated for you folks to name your kids nowadays and must be put to rest for now. I'd favor Casper or Kasper over that from now on.
I enjoy the sound of Jasper and it reminds me of the vampire character from the Twilight series, although I unfortunately now believe this name is much too trendy for me to ever use.
I always thought of the artist, Jasper Johns, when I heard this name. Now I think of my 1 year old son. I paired it with Boheme as a middle name. The artist Mark Ryden also named his son Jasper. Brecciated Jasper is a really pretty version of the stone. I definitely feel it's more masculine than feminine, but it's not completely macho. I think there is also a National Park in Canada named Jasper. It's a good nature name for boys. They are hard to come by without being too feminine, cheesy or overused. It took us forever to decide on a name. I was just calling him Comanche for a while. Boheme I've seen used as a girl's first name but I think it can go both ways. I sometimes call the baby Jasper Bo.
Jasper is very handsome and adorable. I love it with names like Hermione, Caspian, Loki and etc on my list. I feel I wouldn't use it because my friend has it higher up on their list but if I was, his name would be Jasper Edward Samuels and I find that so vogue and just reminds me of a sweet baby boy who's kind and just respectful. It also has a 1920s feel in my perspective and I love it so much because of it.
This is a popular dog name, but don't let that stop you. Molly; Poppy; Harry and Max are very popular dog names too, and nobody bats an eyelid at those. Hey, I even had a dog called Jasper. He was amazing. Full of character. I would use this name on my son in a heartbeat. And as someone else commented above, I also love Jasper with Theodore, though maybe as brothers if I am that lucky. And the similarity of Jassie to Jessie is another reason I think this name should be more popular. Jasper being a 'nature name'; a semiprecious stone, is a plus.

Why choose Jasper as the enemy all the time? I think it's a great name! Would be good as a gardener, farmer or maybe even someone who is gentle, forgiving and cares for the underdog. I will definitely use this name sometime in the future! (you can do the same if you want, but it's up to you!)
Jasper is my son's name and I couldn't be happier that we chose this name. Our Jasper is an adorable blond and blue-eyed boy with eyes like a piece of Jasper so the name suits him to a T. I love that the name is not over-used so that it retains uniqueness. When we chose this name, I knew some people would hate it and that we would just have to be brave, and I'm so glad we did. Jasper is a fresh name in a sea of overused names.

Jasper is a really nice name, sounds mysterious. Personally I don't think I would use it for myself. But if I do, I love the sound of Jasper Theodore or Jasper Theo. Truly elegant sounding.
It's a sweet name with good/positive meanings and it's actually difficult to find a Jasper who does'nt have a good image (rich or poor) by the way it's not just for the Britons. I'm a Nigerrian and I have my niece bearing the same name, I also have a friend who's insisting on naming her baby Jasper as a middle name... well my father gave all his children biblical names like Jasper, Zebulon, Jessey, Goodness and Miracle. So mine was derived from the bible.
I think this name is absolutely horrible and can't understand the appeal.

I think the name Jasper is brilliant and beautiful! The meaning of it is cute. :-) Imagine meeting twins called Jasper and Casper? Aww! :3.

This is my brothers name and everyone LOVES IT. He refers to himself as jazz. He is the first born, and I am the second. My parents love music with a passion as we are Jazz and Piper. I was named after the actress as well but it fits in both scenarios.

I think it's simple, not overused, and not a real bad name.
I really like the name Jasper; it sounds eccentric and unique. I hope it'll be used more often in the future too as it sounds unusual and yet not too unusual to be heard on a person. Also, I think it would suit any age, and reminds me of somebody with character and personality. :-)
Handsome and sophisticated; I love this name, but one namesake irks me. Jasper from 101 Dalmations, I don't mind. Jasper Carrot the TV presenter, I don't mind. Jasper one of the wise men, I don't mind [I'm an atheist]. Jasper Hale, I DO mind.
Jasper is a very cool name for a boy born in this decade. A lot of "J" names sound really good on guys and this one has a really nice, kinda quirky but hip sound to it. I have thought about naming a son this but not quite sure how his name would be received by the general public (I'm in the U.S.) as I think many people still think of this name as too old-fashioned sounding. Anyway, I think it is time for Jasper to be reborn and maybe it is starting to be. It's been increasing in popularity each year, at #337 in 2009.

I really like this name. It makes me think of a tall, blonde guy who is quiet but loyal and peaceful. Twilight is probably the reason I like it so much.
Personally I can't see this name on anyone who is not English. (And I'm American.) For some reason (in my mind), this name coincides with an English accent.

I really like the name Jasper. But for some reason (and this may sound weird, I apologize if it does), I can't picture a man named Jasper who *doesn't* have an English accent. Seriously--well, to me anyway, since I'm American--this is such a quintessentially English name.
I immediately think of Caspar the Friendly Ghost and Jasper Cullen when I hear this name. I have a hard time identifying the name "Jasper" with a human.

This name is so adorable! Not in a childish way, but Jasper is such a great name! I always think of the stone Dalmation Jasper when I see this name.

While this name may not look so nice on paper, the sound of Jasper is one of the most beautiful. I especially like the fact that it belongs to not only one of the 3 Wise men, but also to Jasper Cullen in the Twilight series. Another plus is that it means "treasure." I would consider naming a child this.
I am surprised that some people have commented about this being used for a girl, as Jasper is one of the MOST MASCULINE names I know. I like the name Jasper, but I much prefer the German form, Kaspar.

I love this name, and know an adorable little boy named Jasper. His nicknames are Jap, Japs, and Jax. Just a lovely name, I would love to use it.

This name makes me think of mean, bigoted hillbillies. It also brings to my mind a very annoying Finnish celebrity named Jasper who is always whining about how much he hates being famous. Nothing but bad associations, sorry.
As it is, this name is most certainly not feminine, and I urge any who would name a daughter this to reconsider or to add a feminine diminutive suffix if necessary. I believe that Crystal, Sapphire, or Pearl are better gemstone names for girls.

I love this name for a girl or a boy. For a girl I think it is beautiful with the middle name Rose.
Hhhhmmmm. Not sure what to think of this name. I don't hate it, but I don't love it. It's a nice name for an old man, but I can't see a toddler or a teenager named Jasper. Of course, all those old men named Jasper were young at some point.
Jasper is such, a cool, fresh, uncommon name! I like it - for a girl or boy. It reminds me of the name Juniper. Lol, Jasper and Juniper - now there's a unique sibset!
