Basque pronunciation is [ee-TSEE-ar]. [noted -ed]Spanish pronunciation is either [ee-THEE-ar]/[ee-SEE-ar] when read "the Spanish way", or [ee-CHEE-ar] when attempting to imitate the Basque pronunciation. I've heard both often enough.

It is actually pronounced EEh-thee-ar. In Spanish the most common spelling for this name is Iciar.
