István Varró (1697-1770) was the last known speaker of the Cuman language, a Turkic language that was spoken in Eastern Europe during the Middle Ages. He lived in Hungary.
Count István Széchenyi, son of Ferenc Széchényi, was a politician, theorist, writer, and one of the very greatest Hungarian statesmen.
István Báthory was Erzsébet Báthory´s brother.
