The Hillary Clinton association would just lead to memes of a little girl named Hillary. I personally don’t care if Donald Trump OR Hillary Clinton was president. I accept the president for the way he/she is! Hillary is a cute name for a girl. I’m aware of this name being unisex and I can picture any male with this name actually. Nevertheless, I prefer it as a girl’s name.

You never hear this name where I live. I don't recall meeting a Hillary / Hilary. I prefer Hilaria though.

I find it hilarious that it started losing popularity with Hilary Clinton.Anyway, sounds like the name of someone born in the 1940's (Like Clinton), very outdated.
Hilary has class and style as well as a substantial history. I don't understand why trendy names like Haley and Hayley and Harley would be chosen over this long-established beauty.

My name is Hilary and I am male. I love my name and almost never meet or hear of other Hilary's (unless they are women). It seems to be used only as a female name but I do like it and I do get the odd comment. I am a bit feminine so I guess it suits me!
I'm a Hilary (female) and it was a name I didn't like so much as a kid because it was so uncommon (and I thought names like Tiffany and Jennifer were much cooler--it was the 80s, I was under ten years old...) but I've learned to really like this name. It isn't very easy to make fun of (although Canadian Hilary's usually get called Hilroy, after the school stationery company). The most annoying aspect of my name is that everyone usually spells it with two L's instead of one.
It's pretty - sounds melodious and the meaning's lovely. I hate it with two Ls though because they're not necessary (I mean, hilarious, hilarity, etc have only one L) and make it surnamey. Even prettier than Hilary is Hilarie - feminine spelling and cool.

I don't like it. It makes me think of either old women or annoying pop singers.
This name is not pretty at all, and the very way it sounds is just ugly sounding! Ew, Hilary?

I hate this name. I always have. Not because it's snobby sounding, I don't have a problem with snobby-sounding names. It's that initial syllable--Hil--is so ugly. The whole name is distressingly close to the hideous Hildegarde.
I have a friend named Hilary, and her eyes are incredibly expressive. Hence, I always think of Hilarys as having very expressive eyes. By the way, I love this name! I think it is equally good on a boy, or spelled Hillary. Also, I think the name 'Hylari' is realy tryndee. Just in my opinion, though.

I love this name sooooo much better spelled Hylari. I don't know why, but I always have.
It usually doesn't bother me too much when people use masculine names on girls, but with this name it does. I think it's a good man's name, but terrible for a woman. It's just too male-sounding.
Hilary is a beautiful name. I like the meaning of this name too.

I don't like this name because it's my name. I think it's boring and snobby sounding. People like Hilary Duff and Hilary Swank ruined this name for me. I can't stand it! And every one always spells my name with two l's it's so annoying! I don't think this is a pretty name at all.

Hate this name now. Used to kinda like it because I knew a very nice girl named Hilary, but it's been ruined for me. I know an incredibly kind and friendly, but completely obnoxious, girl named this and of course, Hilary Duff. I can't stand Hilary Duff.
Because this name was originally a boy's name, I could never use it for a girl. Because this name is now a girl's name, I could never use it for a boy.

That means you cannot use Ashley, Courtney, Kimberly, Kelly, Hayley, Tracy, etc. etc. either, you know. Keep in mind just how many girls' names were originally for boys.

The name Hilary has grown on me. I don't know if I prefer 1 L or 2.

I think this is a horrid names for girls. It's better for boys, but it is thought of as a girl's name, so they WILL be made fun of. But, hey, that's what middle names are for!
I admire Hilary Clinton and Hilary Swank, they are awesome women. I unfortunately know a chick by this name and she is awful. It shouldn't be given to someone lightly because it's a very solid, dignified name. It is cool.

Erm, Mrs. Clinton's name is spelled H-I-L-L-A-R-Y.

Hilary is my daughter's name, born in 1993, it was not a very popular name (other than Hillary Clinton). She is befitting of such a beautiful name, her sister's name is Abigail. Dad, who obviously wanted boys, calls them Albert and Harry now!
