Obviously the association is too strong, but I like this name! Would definitely name a pet Hercules/Heracles, just for laughs.

It always annoys me when people say that Hercules was the son of Zeus. I'm like. "No, peeps! Hercules was the son of Jupiter! HERKLES was the son of Zeus!"

I have a distant ancestor named Hercules, and would consider using this name, but only in the middle. I salute anyone daring enough to use it up front, and have recently seen the name on a real baby.

I think Hercules has become too influential and popular a symbol in America to be accepted as a serious name. Another good name gone bad.
