Gustavus "Gus" Cannon (1874 or 1883 – 1979) was a Mississippian-American (self-taught on the jug, fiddle, and banjo that he fashioned from a frying pan and a raccoon skin) blues musician who helped to popularize jug bands in the 1920s and 1930s.
