It’s traditional sounding, and strong, very masculine. I was friends with a Hispanic country boy named Gustavo in high school. He flew a giant American flag off the back of his massive truck every day. The name makes me think of cowboy hats, and greasy hands under an engine. LOL.
My brother's name is Gustavo. He likes his name but it is very rare in the US, however in Spanish speaking countries you hear it more often. Some people call him Gus for short.
