I can't say enough good things about this name as it holds a special place in my heart for being my son's name. Grant has something almost regal about it even having just one syllable that doesn't happen with other one syllables names imo if we compare Grant to John, Paul, James, Mark...Grant stands out so much the only thing I fail to understand is why the name isn't more popular maybe it's because it's not a name that offers nickname options per say and people nowadays are putting too much emphasis on nicknames sometimes even choosing a name based on its nicknames. But I don't think we all need nicknames I would rather not have one and be called by my full name so when I was choosing Grant's name I made sure to look for a name that would be so good that he wouldn't need a nickname. Grant has also a beautiful meaning if you pay enough attention to it, it can be a wish that was Grant-ed to you (in my case, the dream to become a mother) it also means great and big/tall. My son is definitely great and big but I don't speak only by a physical standpoint because he is too young (8 yo) but he is gigantic in my life and in everything he means to me, he is big. The name also brings a classic feel to it without being overused I think parents out there are missing out on a great name when they decide to go for more "trendy" options. Grant is respectable, honorable, intellectual without trying too hard it's a strong sounding name regardless of your accent and won't cause you any issues with spelling. It's straight to the point. Grant is great.
I think Grant is a really cool and relaxed name. I may be slightly biased, but I love that it's an English word/verb, since my name, Breathe, is also an English word/verb lol. Anyways, I think Grant is a very nice name.
I named my second son Grant. Only knew one person with that name, but now it’s getting to be a popular name. I love that name.

We named our son Grant in 1999, at that time it wasn’t so popular. I had read that it meant strong, courageous, trustworthy and compassionate. It’s a name that is free from any racial or ethnic identifiers and allowed our wonderful blessing to have his own life, free from judgement based on his name. Now at 19 years old, he would be assessed on his character: which is strong, intelligent, courageous, independent, compassionate and honest.
Fine with a British accent, but it sounds pretty terrible to me in a U.S. accent, especially a Midwestern accent with the flat, nasal vowels. It's very abrupt and braying to my ear.

I love the name Grant! Strong, handsome and with American pride and religious connotation. The reason I may choose Grant for my future son is because God has granted (allowed, given) me a son! Perfect!
Grant is the name of a delightful, brave, handsome, and proud leader. Grant is one of those names that flows easily. This is a name that would indicate that the person is mature and well educated.
I don't really care for this as a first name, it's rather short and dull.

Great name. Not too popular, but not unheard of. Not childish, but not dated. It's a very strong name that will suit all ages well. Plus, there's really no way for anyone to get "kre8tiv" and butcher the spelling!
One of my closest friends is called this. My impression of this name is somebody who is strong, assertive, but still loves to have fun... at least that's what he is anyways. All in all, a great name.
