Glenda is not the worst name I’ve ever heard (it’s hard to be uglier then Agatha) but, I think Glinda is better. Who wouldn’t want to name their daughter after a beautiful, wise, and powerful sorceress?

I actually think that this is really cute and the meaning is lovely! I hope it will make a comeback.

The name means pure, clean and good. How could someone say it was ugly and outdated? I happen to like my name, and you would to if you knew me. See, people associate a name with the last person they knew with the name.
The only Glenda I've ever known was named after her father, Glen. I don't like this name much, because it reminds me of the famously awful movie about cross-dressing by the famously awful director Ed Wood called "Glen or Glenda?"
