Gerardo

This is worse than Gerald, I hate this name.

In the US, a bearer of this name will be assumed to be of Italian or Latin American descent. And that is most likely true. However, I do think this is a good name and sounds much better than simply Gerard. The soft G makes a big difference and the 'O' feels like a natural and more gradual ending (that the English form lacks).
